Name that Tune

I feel I ought to say something that's true and from the heart
But thinking of what words to say, I don't know where to start
I'll write a piece of music, that's beautiful and free.
And then I'll call it something crass, like "Melody in G".

I could make up a new word, to make me look all bright
Like Insub-stan-sa-tonal and Bironic Meta-Light.
With names like this my little tune takes on a new dimension
To disguise the fact that it has a key with a nifty first inversion.

So what to call my little tune that's nameless and alone
Perhaps I'll call it "Sparkle" or "Wind of the cyclone"
The truth be told, that sometimes, no name is there to shout
Because I haven't got the faintest clue what my tune is all about.
